TWF2024-12 Black Mountain Ridges

A 4 Boot Walk.

The route starts in the car park at Crickhowell. We then leave the town and ascend to the iron age fort of Table Mountain before turning off to ascend the peaks of Pen Cerrig Calch and Pen Allt Mawr . We then drop off the ridge and head north ticking off the peaks of Pen Twyn Glas, Mynydd Llysiau and Pen Trumau. We then swing round to the east to ascend to our high point Waun Fach (the highest mountain in the Black Mountains). We continue to Pen y Manllwyn before descending the dramatic Dragons Back Ridge to Castle Dinas and Pengenffordd.

A minibus will be provided to transport the group from the finishing point at Dinas Castle Inn, Pengenffordd back to Crickhowell. The price of the walk includes the minibus.
