TWF2025-241 Offa's Dyke - Pandy to Hay (Saturday)

£18.00
TWF Walks and Events will be on-sale in early 2025

Walk #1 grading: 4 Boot

A walk along the section of Offa’s Dyke from Pandy to Hay-on-Wye over Hatterrall Ridge overlooking Llanthony Priory.

From Pandy we make our way along the Offa’s Dyke path following quiet lanes until we enter open access land and continue upwards to Hatterrall Hill. Once on the ridge we continue northwards towards the Red Darren trig point (hopefully) enjoying views east across Longtown towards Malvern and West above Llanthony and the Black Mountains. Past Red Darren we continue northwards and enjoy views of Cat’s Back to the east as the climbing continues towards Hay Bluff. We will leave the ridge just south of Hay Bluff and follow the Offa’s Dyke across the common land below Hay Bluff and then downwards through woodland until we reach pastureland and Hay-on-Wye.

A minibus will be provided to transport the group from the Hay-on-Wye Oxford Road Car Park to the starting point in Pandy. The price of the walk includes the minibus.

Sponsored by Longtown Mountain Rescue Team

Maximum walking group size is 12 (+ leaders)

For safety reasons, the new booking process includes a pop-up window that requests the name, phone number and emergency contact details for each walker on each walk. Please ensure that pop-ups are allowed for the TWF website on your browser. See more details in the Website News.
