TWF2026-332 Eluned's Pilgrimage Walk (Sunday)

Eluned’s Way - Dinas Castle to Llanfilo

A short minibus ride takes us to the start of the walk just below Dinas Castle, where we then climb up to a fine example of a Norman motte-and-bailey castle with an unusual spring near the summit. We then descend and continue our walk westwards pausing for a lunch break at Pen-y-Wyrlod Long Cairn and to learn the history of one of the largest surviving Neolithic long cairns and burial sites in Wales. A pause in Trefecca follows so we can view St. Anne’s Well and more of the history of this hamlet. The walk concludes in Llanfilo, where a minibus will collect and return us to Talgarth after a viewing of St. Bilo Church, a classic example of a Norman / Medieval church complete with pilgrims’ springs, rood screen and stone slab altars.
