TWF2026-344 Beacons Escarpment (4 Boot, Sunday)

£10.00
10 available

Grading: 4 Boot Walk #12

This route provides possibly the best views within the national park with great views of the Central Beacons and the neighbouring Black Mountains. As we travel we learn about the rise, fall and rise again of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, how people have lived and shaped this land over 1,000s of years and how these mountains were established more than 400 million years ago…
From Pencelli, we have a short section on a quiet road to the village Llanfrynach, from here we pick up the Three Rivers Ride path towards open access land and the Cefn Cyff Ridge up to Fan y Big.
The brave can have their photo taken on the diving board before we descend past old quarry works and follow the escarpment onto the highest point of the day, Bwlch y Ddwyallt at 754m.

Sponsored by The British Mountaineering Council

Maximum walking group size is 16 (+ leaders)
