TWF2026-431 Grwynne Fawr (3 Boot, Monday)

£10.00

Grading: 3 Boot

Explore the history of the Grwynne Fawr reservoir and the changes that occurred during its construction in the early 20th Century.

We walk up the valley along the remnants of an old railway to the highest dam in Wales, viewing the original temporary village, constructed to house the 600 or so dam builders.

We see the quarry, which provided the stone for the wall of the dam, and the desolate mountain bothy above the reservoir.

After lunch there is an ascent of a mountain split between two counties.

Maximum walking group size is 15 (+ leaders)
